Sooo here we are at the end of January.
For some, that means you’re killing it at the resolutions and goals you’ve set for the month/ year. For others, let’s be real, some things are falling by the wayside as the pressure of “omg new year new me” dies down.
You planned on putting together that vision board and hanging it proudly in your bedroom by now (cough cough, me) but it didn’t happen. You wanted to try out “Sober January” and not touch a drop of alcohol butttt then you had cabin fever so you joined your friends for happy hour. Sound familiar?
The same thing may have happened to your so-called workout regimen for the new year. You had high hopes and started out with a bang, but now, 25 days later, it’s kind of died out. “I’ll work out more when spring comes around,” you say, secretly knowing you’re already bullshitting yourself.
Truth is though, you don’t get a summer bod by working out for 2 weeks in April, if that’s what you want to accomplish. So boujies, it’s not too late to refocus your fitness resolutions for the year and kick ass in February instead, especially with a little musical inspo from yours truly.
I love music and make playlists for literally everything, so I put together a workout playlist with some of my all-time favorite songs to listen to while at the gym, and wanted to share it with you all. This playlist doesn’t feature the cheesy ’80s jams you’ve heard for way too long in every gym possible. No “Eye of the Tiger” business here. It also doesn’t feature songs you’d typically associate with fitness (I.e. – “Kanye’s Workout Plan”).
Instead, there’s a lot of unexpected hip-hop and house music, and some beats/lyrics are not for the lighthearted or easily-offended….so consider yourself warned. But I don’t doubt there’s something that everyone will love and vibe with on this playlist.
Save some of it, save all of it – whatever works, but I hope it gives your existing workout routine or future fitness goals a boost, and makes you feel like a damn rockstar when you’re on that treadmill (or any other machine, for that matter). Enjoy!
